MS Power BI vs. Tableau: Which is best for my organization?

Everyone is collecting data, but many organizations have not taken the next step with Business Intelligence by visualizing their data. Data visualization transforms hard to follow tables and turns them into graphs and charts that can quickly communicate relationships and showcase trends and patterns more easily.
In this presentation, we will be taking an in-depth look at the two leading Business Intelligence tools in the market – MS Power BI and Tableau. We will be comparing features to help those who are undecided or looking to switch to make a more informed decision.

Jessica has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a major in Management Information Systems and is currently finishing the last leg of her Master’s program at Washington State University. She recently had the opportunity to work for two companies who were either implementing or expanding on their Business Intelligence capabilities. This has given her significant experience and insight into the two leading platforms: MS Power BI and Tableau.

Paul Turley
Enterprise-Scale Business Intelligence – Demystifying the Power BI XMLA Endpoint

Using the XMLA endpoint, the Power BI Premium service now includes the capabilities of SQL Server Analysis & Azure Analysis Services combined with newer data modeling capabilities of Power BI. Data models published to the Power BI service can now support version control, scripted builds and team application life cycle management, enterprise IT tooling and scripted object management.
This session will demonstrate how to enable and use this new capability, to migrate data models to IT-scale solutions and use IT-class development and solution management tools to manage projects.
