Kendra Little
Designing Schema Changes with a DevOps Mindset

Database DevOps practices call on you to continuously deliver value to your customers, but there’s a problem: database changes are notoriously tricky to implement. In this session, Microsoft Certified Master Kendra Little will show you patterns to design schema and data changes for SQL Server that help you maximize performance and availability. You’ll get a guide to which changes may work differently in test and production, and a checklist for testing each tricky change.

Kendra LittleKendra is a Microsoft Certified Master and a Microsoft MVP. Kendra fell in love with the challenge of deploying software to a complex database environment when she worked in a build operations team at a software startup. She went on to become a database administrator for performance critical databases at Microsoft Corporation. Since then, Kendra has worked internationally as a teacher and consultant, co-founding Brent Ozar Unlimited, then later creating the training site SQL Workbooks. She joined Redgate Software as a DevOps Evangelist in 2018.

Generating Sequences in Queries

In queries we often need a simple sequence of numbers with no gaps. Let explore some ways to do it programmatically and easily without creating any tables.

Alberto SantaballaAl is a lifelong software developer but with a strong data gene. Always curious about how to bend SQL to do interesting things and totally drawn in when someone says “I don’t think you can do that with SQL”. Happy transplant from the very muggy Southeast and member of OregonSQL for the fours years here in Portland.
